I charge $350/hour. I do not take a retainer for my mediation or consulting services but I do ask that clients pay by check or credit card at the end of each mediation/meeting and at the completion of any work.
I do request a retainer when I work as a collaborative attorney. The retainer will be a mutually agreed upon amount.
I am happy to speak with prospective clients about the separation process for 15-20 minutes, free of charge. This call can be with both spouses/partners or just one. If I speak with one spouse initially, I am also happy to speak with the other spouse at a different time. Either way, I avoid discussing the stories behind the separation with either party individually. We are simply trying to figure out if mediation or collaborative negotiation will be a good fit for your family and if you feel comfortable working with me.
If you and your spouse/partner do choose to work with me as a mediator, collaborative attorney, or consulting attorney, we would then set up an initial meeting. For mediations, I schedule between two and three hours for this initial meeting, so that we can go over the process and begin to address the substantive issues as well.
